There are less than 75 days left until the park opens, and construction is on schedule.
Seventy-three days before the planned opening, park officials expressed certainty that construction will be finished on schedule.
“Oh, absolutely, I’m confident we’ll make it by Oct. 15,” construction manager Craig Riebel said as he stood near a partially completed gray castle, the centerpiece of the indoor-outdoor Dragon Coaster ride. Panels of yellow fiberglass contrasted with the faux stone exterior of the completed lower section.
Some members of the media were given a tour yesterday to showcase the state of the project.
Four of what will eventually be nearly 50 rides have already passed state inspection. Channel 10 News has this video report:
Excitement continues to grow as the countdown shrinks toward zero. One noteworthy bit of information from the tour, annual pass holders will be invited to preview days on Oct. 10, 12 and 13, according to director of sales and marketing Kim Iseman.

The Lakeland Ledger has a story today about Nancy Daley, current Mayor of Lake Alfred, former Cypress Gardens Ski Show performer, and new Model Citizen.
Daley began work this month as wardrobe supervisor at Legoland Florida, the theme park scheduled to open Oct. 15 in Winter Haven. Model Citizen is the title Legoland Florida bestows upon all of its employees, partly in reference to the elaborate models to be displayed at the park.
[...]
Daley started as a skier, one-twelfth of the four-deck pyramids in the renowned water-ski shows at Cypress Gardens, and eventually rose to management positions.
“It’s like being in a parallel universe,” Daley said of her return. “It’s like I’m in the same place, but it’s not the same.”
As wardrobe supervisor, Daley will oversee everything from the costumes worn by make-believe firefighters to the oversized, Lego-brick nametags worn by the park’s employees.
I encourage you to visit the Ledger and read the whole story. It is exciting to read about the people who are going to be a part of LEGOLAND® Florida when it opens in less than 16 week. While I have your attention, don’t forget to tell your friends about the Brick Blog and share your story!

While there may be just over 16 weeks until LEGOLAND® Florida opens to the public, it’s never to early to take a walk in the park. Here is General Manager Adrian Jones to be your guide.
One part of the park that everyone is going to want to see is Miniland. Take a look as the first models are put into place in Winter Haven.
